Run With All Your Heart 5k- Los Angeles

The Los Angeles 5k will support our local Sarcoma Initiative. A coordinated, scalable platform that brings clinicians, researchers, and survivors together to advance sarcoma care. The initiative is built on three core pillars—the Sarcoma Tissue Database, an Annual Sarcoma Forum to drive collaboration, and STEP Forward, a standardized therapy and exercise pathway designed to support pediatric oncology survivors.
At UCLA, one of the nation’s three busiest sarcoma centers, we evaluate over 1,000 patients and perform ~800 sarcoma procedures annually, creating a uniquely deep repository of tissue, blood, and clinical data. With the proper funding, this resource becomes a living database—driving discovery, accelerating innovation, and advancing the next generation of sarcoma treatments.
Next, we are launching a think-tank–style Sarcoma Forum that brings experts together across disciplines to challenge assumptions, generate new ideas, and accelerate breakthroughs in cancer biology and treatment. Presenters will pitch innovative projects to the group, which will collaboratively select a winning proposal to receive dedicated funding through our initiative. Support will enable us to host the inaugural Annual Sarcoma Forum at UCLA’s Meyer and Renee Luskin Center in 2026.
Finally, STEP Forward is a standardized, evidence-based rehabilitation and exercise platform designed to support pediatric oncology patients from early recovery through long-term survivorship. Funding will support the development of a universally accessible online resource and enable leading physical therapists nationwide to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
