Friends of Ruwenzori is the funding arm of our partner KIDA in rural Uganda. Kitojo Integrated Development Action formerly Kitojo Integrated Development Association (KIDA) was founded in 1999 by the Rev Canon. Ezra and Mrs. Marjorie Musobozi to improve the lives of rural communities devastated by poverty, high disease burden especially HIV/AIDS, lack of easy access to health services, increasing number of school drop-outs, vulnerable children, and orphans. Located in Ruteete Sub-county, Kabarole District in Western Uganda, KIDA has a full hospital including a children's ward, provides school fees to over 100 children, provides immunizations, pre/postnatal care and safe deliveries, KCHIP community insurance plan, a vocational school and much more in order to fulfill their vision of “Empowered people taking care of their own lives.”
