The Conejo Free Clinic has been a leader in the non-profit safety net for low-income, uninsured adults and children in Ventura County and North Los Angeles County since 1976.
The CFC’s all-volunteer team is the foundation of our patient care delivery system, consisting of physicians, nurses, dentists, dental specialists, attorneys, Private Practice Partners and support staff. All team members generously contribute their personal time and professional expertise. The quality of CFC care is highly respected because of this network that leverages optimal access to care for the best possible patient and client outcomes.
CFC’s Volunteer Team and our caring donors and friends make all of our free services possible. Each year, the CFC meets an operating budget of approximately $500,000-$600,000. We also receive significant donated and discounted non-cash supplies, services and provider time that are leveraged with our cash support. This combination allows us to be able to invest over $1.8 million, cash and non-cash, into the lives of low-income adults and children each year.
The Conejo Free Clinic is not an FQHC, which is the federally qualified health center. FQHC’s receive large federal funding opportunities that free clinics cannot apply for. Each year, the CFC relies fully on philanthropic gifts, donations and grants.
