My name is Conner K. Gamboa. I was born on August 20, 2007, with a rare disease called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and was undiagnosed. I had a dream of becoming a doctor to save children because my passion was to help people, which was inherited from my father, Jose Gamboa, who always pushed me to be the best in anything I did in life. I was a straight A student and earned the valedictorian award in my 8th grade promotion. In addition, I loved playing sports which included football, soccer, basketball, and my favorite baseball. My favorite sport teams are the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco 49ers.
On March 31, 2022, while playing the sport I loved the most, baseball, for Caruthers Elementary I collapsed and was rushed to Valley Children’s Hospital. I earned my angel wings to go to Heaven and my earthly dreams were cut short. Or so I thought……….
Now I can see the bigger purpose I had where my dream of saving children will live out through my loved ones. Through my life and the love of my family we will be building awareness of EDS and awarding local high school students with scholarships. In 2023, our foundation awarded $9,000 in scholarships to 9 deserving students.
So today I am asking you to please join The Conner K. Gamboa Foundation to keep my dream of saving future lives a reality.
