Children's Dream Racer - 5k

NOTE FOR PARTICIPANTS:

• 7am - Packet pick up will open (same day pick up at event)
• 8am - Gather at start line for announcement etc
• 8:15am - Pre-stretch lead by Sarah Ingram
• 8:30am - Run/Jog/Walk begins
• No on site registration 

Children's Dream Racer 5k, presented by Ventura County Association of Health Underwriters. VCAHU proudly serves our community with a vision of providing access to private sector solutions for health insurance through the unbiased advice of local agents and brokers. We are your healthcare advocates.

VCAHU is extremely excited to bring the community together in an effort to raise a goal of $10,000 in order to have a Children's Dream Racer built for Ventura County Medical Center's Pediatric Unit / PICU. Children’s Dream Racer is a child-sized version of a real NASCAR race car. Built by retired NASCAR builder and founder of CDR, Mark “Smitty” Smith. These cars are built from the same materials used to fabricate a real NASCAR. Smitty’s mission is to place a Children’s Dream Racer in hospitals and cancer centers all across the US so that children going through treatment have a chance to escape the worries of their circumstances for even a few moments out of their day.

Children receiving care can experience the excitement of driving on the track while sitting in an authentically constructed Children’s Dream Racer. Strapped in and ready to play video games, watch a movie or listen to music streaming from built in A/V components, kids in VCMC’s Pediatric Unit will soon be in the driver’s seat.

Proceeds generated from this event will go toward the build and delivery of the Children's Dream Racer.
