Dialysis Clinic, Inc., is the largest not-for-profit dialysis provider in the US. The care of the patient is our reason for existence. At DCI Grand Junction, we provide in-center hemodialysis and home peritoneal dialysis to patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and Acute Kidney Injuries (AKI). Dialysis is a very expensive life-sustaining treatment that replaces some of the kidney function lost in ESRD and AKI patients. Although most insurance plans cover 80% of the cost of dialysis treatments, patients without a secondary insurance plan are left paying the remaining 20%. Our fundraising goal of $9516 is equal to to the approximate out-of-pocket cost for a patient receiving in-center hemodialysis three times a week for one year.
