Description
Beat the Heat 5k is a family friendly event that was created to benefit the non-profit, One Innocent Life. This event kicks off with a 5k race for runners, and a slightly less-than 5k distance for walkers. Throughout the day we will have cook-out style food, beverages, group activities, and recognition for top placement in the race.
All preregistered attendees will be given a race packet which includes an event t-shirt and other goodies to be announced.
Proceeds for this event will benefit One Innocent Life - a nonprofit started by Jeff Block, father of Eva Block. Eva and two of her friends, Kevin and Kerry were lost in a off-campus housing fire in 2012 at Marist College. One Innocent Life is dedicated to "Educating Students. Raising Awareness. Putting out fires before they start." For more information about One Innocent Life and it's mission please visit: www.oneinnocentlife.org .
