We usually have between 9 and 12 different non-profit beneficiary organizations supporting our event each year. You can help to add to our charitable donations by donating to Running Zone Foundation.
Supporting Our Community through Fitness
The founders of Running Zone, Don and Denise Piercy, organized numerous running and walking events in Brevard County since 2003 and donated proceeds from these events to various nonprofit organizations.
In September 2008, Don and Denise established Running Zone Foundation, Inc. to formalize their commitment to health and fitness programs in Brevard County. In 2020, Running Zone Foundation expanded into Indian River County and is now offering 17 events in both counties.
The Foundation was established as a 501 (c) (3) organization with the purpose to promote exercise and fitness and give back to local organizations. Today, it consists of 7 events in the Run Brevard Race Series, 4 events in the Run Vero Race Series, the Corporate 5K, the Shamrock Shuffle 5K, the Space Coast Turkey Trot 5K, the Running Wild Trail 5K, as well as two longer distance events with the Space Coast Marathon & Half Marathon and the Vero Beach Half Marathon & Sea Turtle 2 Miler.
Running Zone Foundation’s charter is to promote and encourage health and fitness in our community through running, jogging, walking and related educational programs and publications.
