Donations will be split evenly between The Running Elements Foundation and the Brown Riverfront Esplanade Foundation
The Running Elements Foundation, Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit supporting local heart health initiatives. TRE Foundation develops and supports community programs that offer opportunities for children and their families to participate in physical activities. Donations from the TRE Holiday Lights Run will go to funding the "Jr Elements Training Program." This program is offered multiple times throughout the year for local children and their families. Kids participate in an 8-week training group that combines physical activities, outdoor games and fun running exercises. At the end of the program, each participant completes a 5k with a parent/guardian/relative of their choice. The Running Elements Foundation offers this program and the goal race entry at low or no-cost to the kids and their families with the hopes that the excitement each participant feels during the training, 5K finish line, and post-race celebration will instill a love for running and lasting positive memories.
The Brown Riverfront Esplanade Foundation, Inc. (BREF) is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization established by J. Hyatt and Cici Brown. BREF’s mission is to restore the riverfront to its previous glory and facilitate the restoration, operation and revitalization of the Riverfront Esplanade. In 2019, BREF entered into a long term lease with the City of Daytona Beach for the purpose of redeveloping, operating and managing the Riverfront Esplanade, formerly Riverfront Park. The City of Daytona Beach contributes financially to the maintenance and operations of the Riverfront Esplanade. Inspired by memories of his childhood spent along the riverfront, Chairman Hyatt Brown, along with the BREF Board, is committed to delivering a spectacular space where future generations can go to experience the charm of downtown Daytona Beach. This includes such programs as 'A December to Remember' program of events that is offered as a free community experience.
