The Fort Myers Track Club is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, established in 1978, that supports other local charitable organizations with the technical support in producing high-quality races and virtual events. The Fort Myers Track Club actively participates to help raise nearly $300,000 in funds each year that go to local charities. This year, the Fort Myers Track Club and our Annual Turkey Trot 5K have partnered with the Edison and Ford Winter Estates and the Fort Myers Track Club Billy Shevach Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Net proceeds from this event will benefit each of our charitable partners.

The Edison and Ford Winter Estates Preservation Fund
The non-profit corporation, the Thomas Edison & Henry Ford Estates, Inc. governs and manages both the Edison and Ford estates for the City of Fort Myers which has owned the Edison property since 1947 and the Ford property since 1988. These original historic properties consist of 18 acres containing botanical gardens and 19 buildings. The corporation is designated as a 501(3) non-profit charitable educational organization. The properties are listed on the National Historic Register, the Historic Florida Landmark, the National Chemical Landmark, and an original Save America’s Treasures of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Fort Myers Track Club Youth Scholarship
Every year the Fort Myers Track Club awards one or more deserving high school seniors a scholarship. It was named the FMTC Billy Shevach Scholarship in memory of Billy and the generosity of the Shevach family. The FMTC is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization founded in 1978 that supports many other local organizations with the technical support in producing high-quality races. The FMTC actively participates to help raise nearly $300,000 in funds each year that go to local charities.
