At the American Cancer Society, we continue to closely monitor the situation and have made the decision to pause face to face activity.
As a trusted partner, I want you to be of the first to know that the MIA RUNWAY 5K SERIES leadership and the American Cancer Society is still planning to hold a physical event for our community supporters and to stay the course to continue to support the mission. As a public health organization, we are committed to the safety of our attendees, staff and volunteers especially those with compromised immune systems and currently battling cancer. Due to these reasons we will also be looking to add virtual elements to our event to allow everyone to participate event if they may not be able to attend in person. We will be making all decisions rooted in the safety of our attendees, staff, and volunteers. Your continued support will ensure we can hold <our event at a later date, an online fundraiser, etc.> to meet our goal, which will continue to fund research and bolster our mission of attacking cancer from every angle.
Even though we can’t be face to face right now, we’re still committed to fighting cancer head on, and continue to do all that we can to support cancer patients during this time. As a reminder, if anyone in the community has questions or needs related to their battle, the National Cancer Information Center is available any time day or night at 1.800.ACS.2345.
