Through the Foundation for Leon County Schools, donations made to the 2026 Tallahassee Marathon will go toward funding the costs associated with running track or cross-country for our Title 1 middle and high-schoolers. Uniforms, shoes, transportation and the cost of getting a physical (mandated by the state) are examples of how your support will go further, providing opportunities for everyone to run on equal footing!
In Leon County, there are approximately 13,000 low-income students in the public school system, a figure that represents about 40% of the total student population in schools identified with Title I funding. These are students from economically disadvantaged households who receive federal support through Title I programs, but only for the basic needs, not for the “extras.”
