Dragon Boat Atlanta
On a chilly February afternoon in 2004, Dragon Boat Atlanta, a breast cancer awareness dragon boat team, took to the water for the first time. Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese sport that is quickly becoming the fastest growing watersport in the world. Our mission is to increase awareness of breast cancer by sharing the belief that there is quality life after breast cancer and showing that exercise plays an important role in achieving the highest quality of life. Paddling with other breast cancer survivors provides a message of hope to participants, the family and friends who support them and the Metro Atlanta community. We welcome breast cancer survivors and supporters, women and men of all ages and athletic abilities to paddle with our team.
Since our inception in 2004, many of our members have paddled internationally, thus spreading this message of hope worldwide. Incorporated and earning non-profit status in 2011, Dragon Boat Atlanta is the only breast cancer awareness team in the state of Georgia.
