Woodlands Coffee Roasters & Cafe is family-owned and operated in Kathleen, Georgia! Their mission is to plant hope, nourish souls, and cultivate love around the world!
On June 2, 2014, the Slade family was changed for always. Their First World collided with the Third World of a small, malnourished 12-year-old boy who wore clothing two-sizes-too-big, had holes in his shoes, yet held a twinkle in his eyes. Their hearts were captivated by his contagious spirit, and they began the adoption process immediately! After they made 16 trips within a 3-year period of time in a ferocious battle for LOVE, their 15-year-old son’s physical address finally changed from Orphanage Emmanuel in Guaimaca, Honduras, to their home in Kathleen, Georgia. They now call ourselves the “Slade Party of 4!"
One night, in a full-circle moment, the Slade Party of 4 married a long-time dream of owning a coffee house with the desire to provide a deeper purpose for the youth at their son's orphanage. Thus, the "The Orphanage Coffee Project" was born!" Through the partnership of a compassionate, local Honduran coffee farmer (AKA - “Mr. Miyagi”), they have planted a portion of their Woodlands Coffee Roasters & Cafe coffee crop at their son's orphanage, and Mr. Miyagi also trains the apprentices at his coffee plantation. Through these “classrooms,” they are learning how to grow their futures, create hope, and build dreams.
The Woodlands Coffee Roasters & Cafe Team & the Slade Party of 4 is ETERNALLY GRATEFUL for each and every partnership that helps them "build community" in Middle Georgia and create life-change for the mighty warriors at Orphanage Emmanuel! "THANK YOU!!!!!!!" = )
