ASSAULT ON KENNESAW MOUNTAIN MEMORIAL 5K RUN

AoKM’s mission is to support the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, build morale, and promote physical fitness.  

The Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. is a self-funded charitable corporation established in 1994.  It was approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit 501 (C) (3) organization in 1996.  The Foundation’s primary mission is to provide financial relief assistance during times of unexpected emergencies and hardships to current members of the Georgia National Guard and full-time federal/state civilian employees of the Georgia Department of Defense living in the State of Georgia.

Although not a military organization, the Foundation is recognized as an official support organization of the Georgia National Guard. It functions at the state level in a role similar to Army Emergency Relief and the Air Force Aide Society, EXCEPT that the Georgia National Guard Foundation relies totally on donations and fund-raising events to support its mission.
