Hands & Hearts for Horses Veterans Day 5K & 1-mile Fun Run/Walk

All donations for this event will go to support therapeutic horseback riding activities at Hands & Hearts for Horses.  Therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted activities are a type of recreational therapy that is well suited for a wide spectrum of people with disabilities and special needs.  Clients receiving therapeutic riding services see not only a physical benefit from the movement of the horse, but also a social, emotional and behavior benefits from interaction with the horse, volunteers and other clients.  The improvement in overall sense of well-being has been seen time and time again with our clients.

In honor of Veterans Day, Hands & Hearts has pledged to donate 10% of the total proceeds to Allen-Cook VFW Post 4995 here in Thomasville.  This donation will help the VFW Post purchase flags to put on veteran's graves in local cemeteries on Memorial Day.

Hands & Hearts for Horses (HHH) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization located in Thomasville, Ga.  We provide therapeutic horseback riding services to all people over the age of 4 with any degree of cognitive, physical, behavioral or emotional disability or special need.  We have been serving our community since 2000 and currently serve about 90 clients with special needs or disabilities a week from Thomas, Grady, Colquitt, Mitchell and Lee Counties and Leon County in Florida.  HHH also works with local special education classes from local schools to provide therapeutic riding lessons to their students with special needs during the school day.  Eight self-contained special education classes from Thomas, Grady and Mitchell Counties are transported to our facility during the school day and are able to receive therapeutic riding lessons with their class.
