Blaze The Trail Color Dash

Model Mentors is a student organization at Valdosta State University established in 2013. We are a 501(c)(3) (A non-profit organization) mentoring organization through the Valdosta State University Foundation Incorporated. One of our goals within the organization is to inspire youth and make a positive impact throughout the community. In efforts to accomplish this goal, we will be hosting our second annual Blaze the Trail: Color Dash on Saturday, April 21st, 2018. A portion of the proceeds from the race will be donated to the local autism facility in Valdosta.

 The purpose of this race is to raise awareness in regards to Autism while also promoting physical fitness and wellness. The race is a 5k walk/run. It will begin at the Valdosta State University Recreation Center and end on the Valdosta State University’s front lawn. On the day of the race, registration will begin at 8:00 A.M. and the Color Dash will begin at 9:00 A.M. Al­­l participates will pass through four color check points where colored paint powder will be thrown as they pass. In addition to the color checkpoints, we will also have three water stations placed strategically throughout the trail. When the participates finish the race, they will end on the front lawn where lunch will be provided and music will be played. All sponsors and supporters may have booths set up on the front lawn, to help signify the end of the race and provide a place to interact with race participants.
