The Meador’s Masters Foundation is focused on making the world around us a better place. They do this when there is a need they mobilize to be a part of the solution. A dedicated team is committed to stepping in to bridge the gap when support is needed most.
The Maui blaze is now the deadliest US wildfire since 1918, and as a result the residents of Lahaina are currently in desperate need of access to computers, the internet and essential living supplies. Unfortunately because of the fire, cell towers have been knocked out. Access to the computers and the internet are needed as a result of the FEMA mandate that applications for financial assistance or government support must be made via an online application. You have seen the photos, there is nothing left in Lahaina and resources are very limited. The Meadors Master’s Foundation is putting boots on the ground as we launch this virtual race to offer immediate support. Staff is traveling with computers, portable generators and a satellite internet hookup to support displaced residents.
How are we getting access to Lahaina?
Unfortunately, the Meadors Master’s Foundation has a personal connection to the town. Founding members, Mike and Melanie have family that have lived there for more than 3 generations and they personally had a family home destroyed in the fire. They were lucky to not be on the island at the time but many of their friends and loved ones were. The stories on the news are heart wrenching, the stories from their family as to how they escaped is what movies are made of.
So much went wrong, so much was destroyed, and as a result so much will need to be rebuilt. The Meadors Master’s Foundation is small but mighty. When those are in need, the foundation reaches out with support. To learn more of ways that the foundation has been there for residents in Colorado when a different wild fire ripped through Boulder County or Houston residents after Hurricane Harvey, the foundation's army of volunteers and committed corporate partners have allowed the humanitarian efforts to provide hope when it is needed most.
