Dash for Down Syndrome

Donation Goal: $20,000

Your donation helps to fulfill our mission and fund the programs offered by
Eastern Idaho Down Syndrome Family Connect such as:

BRYNNLE'S BASKETS:
We supply all local hospitals with newborn baskets for parents when they have a baby with Down syndrome. These are filled with welcome gifts and educational information

FIRST CALL:
Receiving the news that your baby has Down syndrome can be filled with many emotions. We are here to help! Any parent with a new diagnosis can call us for support and guidance.

NICU ASSISTANCE:
Many babies with Down syndrome have intensive medical needs at birth and spend time in the NICU. We provide funds to the parents to help with the large cost associated with a NICU stay.

EIDS CARES:
This is our hospital support program for any individual with Down syndrome who is in the hospital for a prolonged period of time due to a surgery or illness. We send or deliver a gift to the individual in the hospital.

GRANTS:
We give grants to families to help cover costs of medical and adaptive equipment, guardianship fees, and other expenses.

DOWN SYNDROME AWARENESS LESSONS:
We have developed curriculum and kits with the needed materials to teach lessons on Down syndrome to students in preschool all the way through high school. These lessons teach children what it might feel like to have Down syndrome and in turn help spread awareness about acceptance and kindness towards all.

ICAN BIKE:
This is a national program we bring to Eastern Idaho in the summer to teach 30 to 40 people with disabilities to ride two-wheeled bikes, creating independence and freedom.

SOCIAL EVENTS/GATHERINGS/PLAY GROUPS:
We organize these to help our children, teens, adults, and their families feel supported and to provide safe environments for social activities.

EDUCATIONAL PANELS AND CLASSES:
We host a variety of presentations to help educate the parents and caretakers of individuals with Down syndrome

MOM AND DAD RETREATS:
Moms and dads who have children with Down syndrome can attend these retreats to learn new information and skills while bonding with other parents.

GRANDPARENT SUPPORT GROUP:
We are here to help and support grandparents through educational and social gatherings

GIFTS FROM GRACEN:
A resource for families to help cover funeral expenses when loved ones with Down syndrome have passed away.
