After losing our 2 year old son Nehemiah in September 2024, we were introduced to an organization called While We're Waiting. Their mission is to care for parents who have lost a child and to help them live well "while they're waiting" to see their children again in Heaven someday.
While We're Waiting offers free weekend retreats to grieving parents all across the United States and now even in a few international locations. We personally attended a weekend retreat and were so encouraged by our time there.
In the fall of 2025, we launched a local While We're Waiting support group in Bloomington-Normal. We meet monthly from September to May, providing dinner and childcare and offering hope and encouragement to grieving parents.
