Imagine Hillsboro began in May 2015 by a group of impassioned citizens and a program facilitated by the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs at Western Illinois University. The program, "MAPPING the Future of Your Community", resulted in the ongoing, ever-improving Imagine Hillsboro. The committees include the Technology committee, the Parks and Rec committee, the Volunteer committee, the Education committee, and the Events and Festivals committee, and the Bicentennial Committee.
