10th Annual Jane's Warriors 5K Run & Walk

"I hope you all woke up with pride and purpose today because that's what warriors do"

This was one of Jane Caliendo's favorite battle cries throughout her career and during her fight against cancer.  Many of you who knew Jane remember her as a caring teacher and coach who had high expectations of her students and athletes.  The Jane Caliendo Memorial Foundation is dedicated to keeping a lasting memory of Jane in hopes of continuing to inspire more young people to challenge themselves each day to achieve their best.

Please join in our pride and purpose and consider making a donation to the Jane Caliendo Memorial Foundation. Donations will be used to support scholarships for college bound Sandburg athletes and supporting events such as an annual 5K and other community offerings.

In 2018 and 2019, the Jane Caliendo Memorial Foundation pledged a portion of the net proceeds from the 5K to the University of Chicago Medicine.  More specifically, funds will be directed towards the clinical research performed by Blase Polite, MD.  Dr. Blase Polite treated Jane through her illness and the Jane Caliendo Memorial Foundation is excited to support his innovative research in his battle against colon cancer.
