Hannah & Friends 5k and Fun Walk 2018

Help us take the ‘dis’ out of ‘dis-ABILITIES’!!

The courses wind around the horse pastures, garden pathways and shady trails of Hannah & Friends Neighborhood. Come enjoy the scenery and support a local cause!

Both the 5K and Fun Walk courses wind through the Hannah & Friends property. The 5K course will also include some of the neighboring Eggleston School property.

Race will be timed by South Bend Timing.

Why run this race? :This race was started with two goals in mind:  “I wanted to raise money to help fund programs, but more importantly –to bring area runners to see the amazing community that Hannah and Friends Neighborhood is!” The Hannah & Friends 5K Run and Fun Walk was founded by a local high school sophomore, Michaela Lewis, in 2013. She wanted to pair two loves- that of running- and helping special needs individuals.  

 In its’ first year, the Hannah & Friends 5K had 400 participants and raised over $5,000.00 for the local charity. The support from John Adams High School and area businesses has helped the race flourish to year 6: 2018, with current Race Coordinator, Ben Fecher!

 “It is the highest energy 5K in the Michiana area!” This was the exact quote from a runner last year. With a Hawaiian theme, helpers are in neon shirts and sport flowered leis. Inspirational signs were placed all over the 5K cross-country-like course.

Best signs : “YOU are my favorite runner!” : “May the course be with you!” and “You look like a Beauty, who runs like a BEAST!”

What will the signs say this year? ( You will probably be running too fast to read them!) But please come out–And RUN!!!!!--or walk!
