The Willow Springs Courtyard is a community-led initiative in downtown Beloit, Kansas, aimed at transforming an empty lot left by a removed building into a vibrant public gathering space for residents and visitors.
It was first funded through the Solomon Valley Community Foundation’s “Dream Big” grant, where community members proposed turning that vacant space into something that adds life to downtown.
Planned and proposed features include:
- Outdoor seating and shaded areas for dining or breaks
- A splash pad and water features
- Play areas for kids
- Space for music, performances, and art
- A pocket-park atmosphere that enhances downtown’s appeal and culture
All of this is meant to support entertainment, community connection, and downtown vibrancy. Events and fundraising activities (like local festivals) benefit the Courtyard project, demonstrating ongoing community support and involvement.
