Partnership Housing, Inc.

Partnership Housing was established in September 2004 when a trusted community agency; the Owsley County Action Team, applied for and was awarded a grant from HUD’s Rural Housing and Economic Development program.  Partnership Housing soon after became a 501©3 organization in January 2006.  Since the establishment of Partnership Housing, we have helped low-to-moderate income residents and families in Owsley County to maintain safe, affordable and decent housing by building 45 new energy efficient homes and 16 affordable rental units, and completing approximately 350 rehabilitation projects on existing homes in Owsley County, KY.  Since 2012, Partnership Housing, Inc. has been awarded grant funds from Kentucky Housing Corporation, Department of Local Government for Community Development Block Grant, Homeless and Housing Coalition of Kentucky’s AmeriCorps Program (received 10 years concurrently), Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Appalachian Regional Commission, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, Jackson Energy Cooperative and United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Development and an anonymous donor.  Partnership Housing, Inc.'s organization awards include Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference 2013 Honor of Excellence Nonprofit Organization Award, Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperative “Most Touchstone Energy Homes 2013”-Jackson Energy, Homeless and Housing Coalition of KY 2014 Triple Crown of Excellence Award for Housing, 2014 Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperative “Excellence in Community Housing Development”-Jackson Energy, Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference 2015 Innovation Award “Energy Efficiency-Residential” and the Nonprofit Service Award from KCCV’s 2016 Governor’s Service Awards and 2018 FAHE Green Energy Efficiency Award.
