Lauren only got 22 years.
Her life was cut short by a completely preventable impairment crash—a tragedy that shattered our world and set off a devastating ripple effect through our family, her friends, and her Northwestern State University (NSU) nursing classmates. In Louisiana alone, over a third of all fatal traffic crashes involve alcohol or drug impairment. We are determined to change that statistic and turn our heartbreak into a shield for someone else's child.
 
To honor her memory, we are launching The $22 Pledge. We aren’t asking for large donations. We are asking for exactly $22—one dollar for every beautiful year we were blessed to have Lauren.
Your $22 donation creates a powerful "Butterfly Effect" of safety, education, and healing in our community. Every dollar raised directly funds two vital initiatives:
🏃‍♀️ Free Race Entries: We provide complimentary race registrations to high school drivers and local students who have completed the Sudden Impact injury prevention class, keeping them actively engaged in safe, healthy, and positive community events.
🩺 The Lauren Vaughn Memorial Nursing Scholarship at NSU: We fund a dedicated scholarship to support future nurses at Northwestern State University, helping train the next generation of healthcare heroes who will save lives right here in our community.
