Covenant House opens its heart and its doors each year to more than 900 youth & children with nowhere else to turn. Sadly, the vast majority have experienced years of abuse, violence, and trauma.
With God’s grace, our team of professionals and volunteers help them to heal – and begin new hope-filled journeys. Covenant House offers these brave young people so much more than a safe place to sleep - they provide absolute respect, unconditional love, and essential services to help youth transition from homelessness to independence.
They are ALL good kids desperately in need of help getting off the streets. Covenant House's first goal is to try and reunite them with family; if not possible, their caring and dedicated staff provides assistance finding a job, saving for an apartment, and much more.
Covenant House is the second-highest rated non-profit in Louisiana (by Charity Navigator, the nation's premier charity evaluator), so you can be confident that your support will be used effectively and efficiently. We are also 75% dependent on private donations to continue our critical work. The need is stark: in the past eight years, our average daily census has grown from 45 to 164 youth per night.
