Meet our Recipient:

This year’s benefactor of the proceeds raised through this event is Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Weimer.

Kathy was born and raised in Thibodaux, La. She is a loving wife to Phillip, a doting mother of three and grandmother of 2. After graduating from E.D. White in 1985, she pursued her love for teaching and is a college graduate of Nicholls State. Mrs. Weimer taught kindergarten and 1st grade passionately for 25 years before her medically forced retirement in Feb. 2023. Eight months after her formal retirement, Kathy received her official diagnosis of ALS (or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; Also called Lou Gehrig's disease). 

A once highly active, and adventurous-spirited Kathy has been greatly affected by this monster of a disease, causing limitations to her many hobbies. She loves camping, fishing, agriculture/4-H, caring for her family’s farm animals, teaching, party-planning and so much more. Due to the sudden and unforeseen retirement of Mrs. Weimer, financial stress is inevitable in addition to the medical hardships she and her family currently face. 

With your support, the financial burden will be lifted through the tradition of this Femme Natales event.
