Junior Achievement started in Springfield, MA in 1919 and over the past 100+ years, JA has served more than 500,000 youth in grades K-12 in Berkshire, Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties in MA and the state of Vermont. Last year JA Volunteers donate over 103,000 hours to our youth. JA's financial literacy programs are a socio-economic equalizer, giving young people the knowledge to make sound financial decisions that will not only impact their lives but the lives of their family, their neighborhoods and the region. Jessika L. a JA alum wrote recently "My involvement with JAWM has taken me further than I ever could’ve imagined, and it all started my sophomore year of high school. a fast paced world. I didn’t find that kind of support within the public school system which is why it’s essential to have financial literacy curricula in schools. I implore you to check out their programs & see what is ideal for your students! "
