For many, food insecurity is a real issue. Access to food means more than just having enough food to feed a family, but also resources to do so. The Be Like Brit family has watched as Haiti experiences one of the highest levels of food insecurity in the world with 4.4 million Haitians - nearly half the population - needing immediate food assistance.
We have also seen it right here in our own community; that is why this year, in addition to the Be Like Brit Foundation, we are helping our local community. A portion of the proceeds from The Holden Turkey Trot will help benefit local food pantries like the St. John's Food for the Poor Program, the Rutland Food Pantry and the Wachusett Food Pantry.
