Would you like to help a kid attend Summer camp? Summer is a great time for kids, right? Time filled with friends, family, and fun. Time for exploration and learning that’s different than what they do in school. It happens at summer camps, on family vacations, and even through books and computers. But not for every kid. For children from low-income homes, summer can mean hunger, isolation and even academic losses when they go back to school.
You can help Caroline County youngsters have a great summer!
When you donate to the St. Paddy’s Day 5K Race, you are contributing to a $6,000 Camp & Program scholarship goal for Caroline County youth to attend one of our Super Summer Day Camps or other quality summer camp programs for children.
Last year, 90 Caroline County children received scholarships to attend Summer Programs offered by the department – an investment of $5,185 -- thanks in part to the generosity of businesses like yours and the runners and walkers in the annual St. Paddy’s Day Race.
