Maryland Therapeutic Riding Pony Trot 5K

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of children, adults, active military and veterans by connecting humans and horses in a healing environment.  The services offered here at MTR address a wide range of physical, cognitive and emotional challenges and give our participants hope through their partnership with our incredible herd of horses, therapists, instructors and volunteers.

We also understand that special needs families often have higher than average medical expenses, therefore we offer our services at only 20% of the actual cost to us to provide them.  This means that we must fundraise 80% of the cost.  We rely heavily on our community of supporters and also on events, such as this one, to allow us to continue our mission to provide equine-assisted activities and therapies to the special needs community!
