Description
Our 5K Run benefits the FR Mobility Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization that awards grants to families/indivduals toward the pruchase of a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Held at the former Wakefield Valley Golf Course, the 5K course is unique as the runners will be splt and run the same course in opposite directions. It is a chipped timed race and all participants will receive a high quality shirt. Since this event benefits individuals who are wheelchair dependent, a one mile walk/push course (Wheelchair Peel) is featured for wheelchair dependent participants and their family.
All runners are encouraged to arrive by 7:30 am in order to get their race bib, t-shirt and support the Wheel Peel which begins at 8a. The 5K begins at 8:30 am.
There will be post run refreshments and awards to runners based on specific catagories. Friendly's of Westminster is handing out coupons for a free banana split sundae and other discounts redeemed at that location.
