The Friends of the Moosehorn organize various activities to introduce and welcome people to the refuge, such as a kids Fishing Derby and a Wildlife Refuge Week Open Day. We assist the Refuge staff with activities such as visitor management, educational programs for schools, and trail maintenance. And we work with others to lead Bird Walks, Fall foliage tours and the like. The friends are an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2003 and committed to supporting the Moosehorn NWR. The mission of the Friends is to promote the use, understanding, knowledge, growth, development, operation, and management of the Moosehorn NWR and the refuge system of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
