Since 1978 Rotarians have dedicated themselves to the eradication of polio, one of the world oldest diseases.Yes, polio still does exist and as such is only a plane ride away from the rest of the world. Since Rotary started their End Polio Now efforts, the world has gone from 190 countries and over 300,000 cases per year.... now to less that 20 cases per year and only two remaining endemic countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
