1.900 Miles Towards Unity 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk

About This Event:

Andrews University Latino Association (AULA) is hosting its first annual 5k October 20th, 2019. We have titled our 5k “1,900 miles Towards Unity”. 1,900 miles representing the distance of the United States-Mexico border, which is the most frequently crossed international border in the world. One through which millions of families, individuals and children cross for the possibility of a better life. We have made it our goal at AULA to support our brothers and sisters in need. We have heard the call and are now answering. That is why we have partnered with an organization that is aimed at supporting families who have been victimized by ICE. 

This is an opportunity for us to invite the community and local students to join us and celebrate the end of Hispanic Heritage month. We welcome people of all ages to participate! 

Acerca del Evento: 

La asociación de estudiantes latinos de la Universidad de Andrews (AULA)  está promoviendo su primera carrera anual de 5 kilómetros. Hemos titulado la carrera “1,900 miles Towards Unity”, que en español significa “1,900 Millas Hacia la Unidad”. 1,900 millas representando la distancia de la frontera entre los Estado Unidos de América y México. La cual es la frontera más cruzada en todo el mundo. Por esta frontera, millones de familias, individuos y niños cruzan esperanzados por encontrar una vida mejor. En AULA nos hemos propuesto ayudar a nuestras hermanos y hermanas en necesidad.. Es por esto que nos hemos asociado con una organización dentro de la División Norteamericana para ayudar a familias que han sido víctimas de ICE. 

Estamos aprovechando esta oportunidad para invitar a nuestra comunidad y estudiantes de la universidad a que se unan con nosotros a celebrar la finalización del Mes de la Hispanidad. ¡Invitamos a personas de todas las edades a participar!
