XC Pride Stride 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk

Join us Sunday, August 18, for a great trail run and a great cause!  This timed event at the Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery features age division awards, refreshments, music and the chance to promote and support running for young people in our region.  The all-volunteer Paw Paw Cross Country Club is setting an example for all of Southwestern Michigan. 
 
Shirts guaranteed for all registrants through August 1, and we’ll do our best to get everyone a shirt! Walkers, too, will enjoy the scenery on this unique course!

About The Cause:
 
The Paw Paw Middle School Cross Country Club is changing the lives of middle-school age boys and girls in Van Buren and Kalamazoo Counties, allowing them to train together, learn together and compete with students in schools that support cross country programs. 
 
Dedicated coaches, parents and community members ensure that these youngsters have the opportunity to develop a passion for running that can last them a lifetime.  The club is open to all school-aged children, regardless of their ability, and each club member is a valuable and welcome member of a team, receiving encouragement, responsible training advice and the type of support and guidance that builds character. 
 
This four-year-old club has grown tremendously – five-fold -- thanks to the tireless work of volunteer coaches and organizers.  Community support provided through this run will make a world of difference to young people in our region.
 

Event Details: 

* Both events are timed, 5k beginning at 8:30 and the 1 mile beginning at approximately 9:15 (depending on the duration of the 5k). 

* Awards will immediately follow the 1 mile event. Awards are categorized by gender and age group. 

* The event is a trail run, so please prepare accordingly. If you have questions about the course feel free to contact us!

* Be aware the fee goes up after August 1, so please sign up as soon as possible!

* T-Shirts are guaranteed until August 1-after August 1, we will try very hard to make sure that we get as many orders filled as we can! 

* The Middle School XC coaches will be available to speak with at the event if you would like to know more about this amazing program!
