Y Signature Outreach Programs
Open Door Scholarship Program - The Y provides additional assistance to individuals, families, and seniors who need a little extra help to participate in Y membership and/or programs
Second Grade Learn to Swim - Second graders in Stanly County Schools, homeschoolers, and some preschool programs receive a 8 session class that teaches water saving skills to help reduce the risk of drowning children.
Sunday Lunch Program - With staff and volunteers, the Y provides a warm meal to the hungry on Sunday mornings at the Community Table in Albemarle.
Backpack Program - Backpacks supply deserving pre-k children and their families with meals each Friday to ensure they are able to eat throughout the weekend.
Drive-Thru Food Pantry - The Y is working with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina to provide boxes of food to anyone in need in Stanly County.
Senior Boxes - Another collaboration with Second Harvest to enable the Y to provide food monthly to adults 60+ who are in extreme need due to limited income.
Livestrong at the Y - Livestrong provides support and guidance, free of charge, to cancer survivors and their family as they build bridges to a new normal.
