Straightening The Path 5K

Donation Goal: $35,000

Lauren’s Story: Straightening the Path Forward
In the fall of 2022, Lauren received a life-changing diagnosis: severe scoliosis. She had no symptoms and no idea anything was wrong, making the news even more shocking for her and her family.

Soon after, she underwent major spinal fusion surgery. The recovery was physically and emotionally challenging, especially as an athlete facing the possibility of losing the sport she loved. But with determination and support from her family, friends, and medical team, Lauren took it one step at a time.

About a month into recovery, she reached a turning point—she began walking, then jogging. That moment gave her hope. Today, she is stronger, more resilient, and continuing to pursue her goals.

Why This 5K Matters
Lauren’s experience revealed a critical need for early detection and awareness. Her diagnosis came unexpectedly, and she wants to help others avoid the same uncertainty.

The Straightening the Path 5K brings the community together to raise awareness, support patients and families, and make a lasting impact.
