Rock N' Read 5K

On Saturday, October 22, 2016 the Friends Council, a grassroots fundraising and advocacy component of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation, will host the sixth annual Rock & Read 5K Run/Walk to support the Charlotte 

Mecklenburg Library. Our goal is to show how the Library, which provides valuable resources to
more than 500,000 people in Mecklenburg County, empowers and enriches our community
through connection and access to information.
Last year’s Rock & Read 5K raised more than $25,000 for the Library with more than 550
registered participants, live entertainment at every mile marker, and a festival-like atmosphere
at the finish line in front of our Plaza Midwood Library branch off of Central Avenue. The race
has grown in numbers and in popularity in this eclectic Charlotte neighborhood, and we look
forward to returning to Plaza Midwood for the third year in a row!
