maCares Tribute 5K Run/2.5K Walk

RACE INFO

The Inaugural maCares Tribute 5K Run/2.5K Walk is a timed event on September 9, 2017 at Country Park/Jaycee Park in Greensboro to honor service members and first responders from the past, present, and future. All proceeds will support the maCares & faith Cares Service Dog Support Program.

Strollers and friendly, leashed dogs are welcome. Enjoy the opening tribute ceremony and your choice of a 5K run or 2.5K walk, followed by an awards ceremony, silent auction, with a variety of items 50/50 Raffle drawing, food, and more!

TRIBUTE WALL OF HONOR

Participants are encouraged to bring photographs, written stories, and memoirs of service members and first responders to post on our Tribute Wall of Honor so all may appreciate and connect with these heroes. The maCares Tribute Wall of Honor celebrates the incredible strength, courage, and sacrifices of service members and first responders from the past, present, and future. Those unable to attend the event, but would like to honor someone on the Tribute Wall of Heroes, may mail items to:

REGISTRATION FEES AND DEADLINES

• Early registration (through May 31st): $20 to Walk 2.5K and $25 to Run 5K (timed)
• June 1st to September 4th: $25 to Walk 2.5K and $30 to Run 5K (timed)
• Participants who register by August 20, 2017 are guaranteed a race shirt.
• Online registration closes September 6th.
• Late Registration on Race Day from 7:30am-8:40am: $30 to Walk 2.5K and $35 to Run 5K (timed) 

PACKET PICK-UP

• Friday, September 8th, 4pm-7pm at Fleet Feet located at 3731 Lawndale Drive in Greensboro
• Late Registration on Race Day from 7:30am-8:45am

PARKING

Parking will be available only at Jaycee Park at 3802 Jaycee Park Drive.

RACE LOCATION

The Run/Walk will start at the far end of the Jaycee Parking Lot.

COURSE

• 5K Run - Two loops around Country Park
• 2.5K Walk - One loop around Country Park

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

• 7:30am-8:40am Late Registration 
• 8:40am - Opening Tribute Ceremony
• 9:00am - 5K Run (chipped timing provided by On the Mark Sports)
• 9:05am - 2.5K Walk
• 9:45am - Awards Ceremony & Silent Auction & 50/50 Raffle Drawing
