My name is Jessica Rice Hawkins, and I am writing on behalf of AIMHigh-Keep Pressing. Our nonprofit organization is dedicated to the culture shift of health and wellness awareness post-pandemic and founded solely to inspire and motivate our community on the importance of health. The "Keep Pressing" mantra derived from scripture has become the model for many to stay focused and keep pressing forward during these unprecedented times. We are committed to providing the community with services and events that include fitness, self-care, mental health, and cultural awareness.
We are thankful to God that on May 4, 2024, we will be to hosting our 5th annual and 3rd in-person
5K/10k run/walk in Downtown Henderson in addition to the 5K/10K virtual options. The event continues
to grow successfully because of the generous support we receive from community partners and vendors
like yourself. From 2020 with just under 100 participants to 2023 with 575 participants ranging from
ages 1 through 87 years old, we are simply grateful. Many experienced walking a 5K for the first time
and receiving placement medals that were awarded in selected age groups. A variety of community
vendors came out and helped to make it a day filled with amazing food, family, fun, and fellowship.
We presented the “Keep Pressing Community Award” in the amount of $1500 to the team with the
most participants (80 members). Our goal is to create a scholarship award in addition to the community
award.
The support of generous individuals, churches and businesses is critical to completing this event and in helping to build stronger and healthier communities. Sponsorship, donations, volunteers, and/or sending a team to participate in the 5K/10K event is graciously appreciated. All funds will be used towards the Keep Pressing Award and funding for resources needed in our organization's core community service efforts.
