Help Fleet Feet Northern Jersey support a group that is near and dear to our hearts. This year we will have all donation proceeds go to Imagine. Imagine is a growing organization based in Westfield, NJ, that provides free, year-round grief support for children and families coping with loss. Serving families from over 57 towns across New Jersey, Imagine offers grief support at its two centers in Mountainside and Newark. In addition, Imagine provides grief education and training to schools, agencies, and workplaces, as well as on-site support after traumatic events.
This year, Imagine will host the 12th Annual Greta’s Run 5K on Sunday, May 18th at 9AM in Westfield. In addition to the 5K, the event will feature a Kids Fun Run at 10AM and a Memory Walk at 10:30AM along with live music and local vendors. One of the largest 5K events in the area, Greta’s Run was established in memory of Greta Schoenemann, a Westfield High School freshman who passed away after a tree branch fell on her and her classmates. The event was created by her childhood friends, Ben Nanna and Jayne Ruotolo, to honor her legacy and support Imagine’s mission.
