Show Us Your Shoes High Heel Dash 2020

In honor of the original crowning date of Miss Nevada 2020, June 27, 2020, the Miss Nevada Scholarship Organization will be hosting a virtual Show Us Your Shoes High Heel Dash to raise money and awareness for scholarships!  During the month of June, Women, Men, and Children of all ages are asked to run a 50-yard dash in high heels that must be at least 2 inches high.  All finishers will receive a 2020 MNVSO High Heel Dash medal!  Don't forget to share with us on Instragram at https://www.instagram.com/missnevadamao/ and Facebook page at https://facebook.com/missnvorg using the hastags #ShowUsYourShoes2020 #HighHeelDash2020

For those that may not be as comfortable in heels as Miss Nevada, herself, here are some tips to help you on race day:

• Wedges offer more stability than stilettos
• Non-slip stickers added to the bottom of the shoes can increase traction
• Safety over speed  
• Running in a heel can put more pressure on your knees - a neoprene sleeve could help decrease pressure on the kneecaps
• Utilize some type of ankle support (wrap or lace up brace)
• Be aware of your surroundings - watch for gravel, rocks or holes - be aware of where your feet are hitting the ground as you run
• Heels must be at least 2 inches high but it is recommended no higher than 2.5 inches
