At Clear Path, we built an arts and woodcraft building. We purchased the clock in front of the Village Hall. We’ve built four pavilions in Sullivan Town Parks and one at the Canal Museum. We’ve created a room upstairs in CLCBM for office space. We participate in the state Adopt-a-Highway program. We’ve helped with Habitat for Humanity projects. We award annual scholarships to graduating seniors at CHS. We have sponsored Town of Sullivan Concerts in Park for 28 years.
World-wide Projects
We participate and contribute to the effort to eliminate Polio in the world (we’re almost there). Two of our members went to India to help administer polio shots. We sent teams to New Orleans to clean up and rebuild after hurricane Katrina. We financed the digging of five new clean water wells for remote towns in Ghana. We provided a ‘Shelter Box’ (tent, stove, bedding, solar lighting & food for a family) after a hurricane in Haiti. We collect books for ‘Books for the World’ for distribution in 3rd World countries. We’ve helped a medical mission in Ecuador, an occupational mission in Chile and an educational mission in Guatemala.
How do we raise money for our projects?
To raise funds we host an annual Lobster Fest. We raffle off season SU Basketball tickets. We sponsor races, such as the Erie Canal Towpath Run. Most visibly our ‘Rotary Chuck Wagon’ can be seen everywhere selling hot dogs, sausage sandwiches & drinks at local events such as the Farmer’s Market every Tue at West Park, OzStravaganza, etc.
