ACORNS, a 501(c)(3) organization, supports Genesee County Parks by connecting people with nature through outdoor learning, exploration and fun. Since 2006, ACORNS has provided financial and volunteer support for projects and programs that enhance and supplement the recreational, environmental and educational activities at the Genesee County parks. Our volunteer activities include staffing the Nature Interpretive Center, assisting at environmental education programs, funding displays at the Nature Interpretive Center, assisting with biological surveys and participating in trail and facilities maintenance. Proceeds from past races have enabled us to create an outdoor learning center for children and adults, and to fund equipment and personnel to assist the environmental educators at the parks.
