Marathon’s 5K Run for the Scholars is a culminating class project that was designed by the Marathon Central School Sports Marketing Class. The major focus of the project was to design and market a sporting event for a non-profit organization with the intent that the organization would continue to offer the event on an annual basis. The Marathon Community Scholarship Foundation has agreed to be the beneficiary of this class project.
The mission of the Marathon Community Scholarship Foundation is to raise funds to sustain current scholarship offerings and offer new scholarships to the graduating seniors of the Marathon Central School District.
The Scholarship Committee and the Sports Marketing Class will work hard to make this a quality event that will be sure to be added to your annual race calendar. We look forward to your continued support and hope that you will have an enjoyable time visiting the quaint little Village of Marathon.
