Safe Harbors of the Hudson 5K

Safe Harbors of the Hudson is a dynamic arts and housing nonprofit located in the City of Newburgh, New York, with the mission of transforming lives and building community through housing and the arts. Safe Harbors operates the Cornerstone Residence, which provides supportive housing for 128 of our neighbors; the Ann Street Gallery, a contemporary visual arts venue; Safe Harbors Green, a vital green space and outdoor stage in the heart of our community; and the historic Ritz Theater, which Safe Harbors is redeveloping into a flexible performance space for presentation, creation, education, and engagement.

The Safe Harbors 5K is an uplifting, community-centered race that brings our Newburgh neighbors together to run, walk, and stroll to raise funds for Safe Harbors’ annual programming and operations. Your contribution to the 5K fuels our daily work to provide supportive and affordable housing for our neighbors, to present a diverse and inspiring roster of performing and visual artists and events, and to foster community connections that enrich the quality of life and pride of place for all who live in and visit our city.

What is a Fund-Racer?

Fund-Racers register to participate in the 5K—running, walking, or strolling, you choose your own speed.

In addition to participating in the race, Fund-Racers will also set up a personal fundraising goal through the race website and solicit donations from your friends and family to help reach your goal.

We ask that Fund-Racers set a minimum goal of $100, but how high you set your goal is up to you (and your $35 registration fee is counted towards your goal).
