MOV Gift of Life 3rd Annual 5K Run & Walk

The MOV Gift of Life 5K Run & Walk is a USATF certified paved single loop course, with approximately 50% being on city streets, and 50% on the picturesque Muskingum River Bike Path.

MOV Gift of Life is a 501c3, non-profit organization, made up of local organ transplant recipients, living donors, transplant candidates and supporters. Our mission is twofold: 1) to raise funds to educate the community about the critical need for more people to register as organ and tissue donors, and 2) to raise funds to assist local transplant recipients, living donors, and candidates for transplant with travel and prescription medication costs associated with their transplants.  All proceeds received through fundraising for the Gift of Life 5K Run & Walk go to support our mission.

AWARDS Runners/Walkers & Male/Female:   Overall/1st, 2nd, 3rd place, Masters/1st place, Grandmasters/1st place, 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each age group:  14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

COURSE:  The course is USATF certified (OH14061MW), paved and mostly flat, with 50% on Marietta City streets, and 50% on Muskingum River Bike Path. The start is at the Marietta Aquatic Center, heads down Pennsylvania Ave. to Front St. to Muskingum Park, then loops back along the bike path, ending back at the Aquatic Center. There will be a water stop at the turn-around.

POST RACE: Stick around after the race for bagels, fruit, juice & water. We will also have a raffle for several prizes (tickets available for purchase at the event.)

Registered organ donors will receive a ticket for a chance to win a special raffle prize!

The food along with the raffle & awards ceremony will be held in the Aquatic Center parking lot.

The MOV Gift of Life 3rd Annual 5K Run & Walk celebrates the life-saving power of donation and honors all of the donors who make it possible. By supporting MOV Gift of Life, you will help raise awareness about the critical need to increase the number of those registered as organ and tissue donors. There are approximately 115,000 men, women, and children waiting in the US for a second chance at life through an organ transplant. You can help us make a difference!

Runners & Walkers are encouraged to wear blue or green on race day, the colors designated for support of organ donation!
