SIDS Awareness 5k Run/Walk

The SIDS Awareness 5K run/walk supports the Landen Philpot Scholarship Fund.  This race was organized by members of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in remembrance of Landen, whose father worked at JTDMH, who died of SIDS at 3 months old.  A scholarship was established in Landen’s name that awards (2) $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing a degree in nursing focusing in obstetrics or pediatrics.  During the race, signs provide education and ways to prevent SIDS.  Sharing education about SIDS and ways to prevent this tragedy is the other mission of the 5K.  All proceeds from the race support the Landen Philpot Scholarship Fund.
